If your chosen niche in dropshipping is clothing, then a common issue you will surely encounter are the sizes of the apparel.
As we all know, the size chart for clothing varies depending on which region the customer resides. For example, a size small in Europe and North America is still large for Asians or vice versa.
So do we address this?
There are several ways on how you can tackle this, and this particular concern is what I’m going to discuss today.
I will help you with how to handle AliExpress Asian clothing sizing so you can provide your customers the right size and keep them satisfied with their purchase.

How to Handle AliExpress Asian Clothing Sizing
Since products from AliExpress are mostly coming from Asia, you may have to disclose with your customers that they may have to go two sizes down. This is because large-sized clothing may still be small to European buyers, as explained earlier.
Other solutions to address this situation and prevent any sizing mistake, you may follow these tips—
Put a disclosure in your chart
When you regularly browse online retail shops for clothing, you might have noticed that some have a size chart at the end of the images, or it is included in the product section of the page.
This is actually the most common way to inform your customers of the sizes. And yes, they are very likely accurate.
However, the problem here is that almost nobody uses the size chart anymore. If they’re currently using a medium size, then they’re going to assume that their clothing is always medium.
As mentioned, an issue would arise due to physical differences among Asians and people living in the West.
You have to anticipate such a problem, and aside from the size chart, you may also want to disclose that the sizes available are only applicable for Asian customers and that you may have to reduce or increase the sizes to get the perfect fit.
You may hear some eCommerce gurus advising you that they should trim down or size up by three.
But I highly recommend that you reduce or increase the size by two. For example, if you’re a European male that wears medium clothing, then you may need to upsize to XXL.
Address the issue post-purchase
Another way we can address the issue is by sending them automated emails stating the problem that may potentially arise.
By doing so, you help customers manage their expectations and make quick decisions whether to replace the items that they just purchased.
Also, you no longer have to burden yourself with the sizing chart or disclaimer on your product description. And your conversion rate should increase because the customers would likely click on the product offer once again if they want to modify their orders.
The good thing here is that the refund rate would likely decrease because you have solved the issue early in the process. And what you have to do now is just update the order specifications at the backend.
However, a problem here is that customers may not have the chance to read your email, and they get angry if they indeed received the wrong item.
And handling customer complaints and product refunds may rely on the level of competency of your customer service staff.

Rename the sizing
One last option that you can exercise is to rename the sizing.
What this means is that if it’s medium, then you rename it to extra-small. Or, if it’s extra-large, then you can go ahead and rename the sizing to medium.
Well, the potential problem here is that the tag the customer would receive is different from the sizing they placed. They may initially get upset at first, but they would find out that it’s just the right size once they wear the apparel.
