Remember the adage that goes, “those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”
Although the saying of George Santayana seems to pertain to the large masses, it also applies to a much smaller scale—and that is ourselves.
You know that your current status is a mess, and things are simply not going according to what you’ve imagined; despite it all, you still maintain your disposition and don’t change.
As a result, you continue failing and not achieving your full potential.
If you want to effectively combat your old destructive habit, you need to identify what’s not working.
And once you found what triggers such negative habits, then I assure you that it would feel like you’ve cracked the code. And this is so because solutions and what you need to do becomes clear.
And then, the next step is to replace your old unproductive behavior with new empowering ones.
However, as easy as it may sound, finding a routine that works might require patience, and it would have to go through periods of trials and errors.
For example, instead of online gaming or binge-watching YouTube, you may take power naps instead.
Taking a rest in between tasks works wonders! A 15-minute nap provides a huge productivity boost. It rejuvenates your mind and body that enables you to accomplish more.
As you see, it could be any new habits you wish as long as it can help you progress.
Lastly, I believe that it would be a good idea to journalize your progress.
Taking notes along the way may come in handy to remind you of your goals and prevent you from backsliding.
Your journey to becoming a better person isn’t going to be easy. But what matters is that the intention is there, and you have the determination to succeed.
Having such willpower gives you the power to push through even in tough situations.
